About this book

The shorter, earlier treatment of Frank's central idea, and the sentence the whole course turns on: either you work with your mind, or your mind works you.

He describes the mind as a vast multi sensory recording and playback device functioning through sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch and thinking, largely an accumulation of past experience grouped by similarity. We never really perceive anything new, because what we perceive is always associated with what is already there. Observe it even briefly, he says, and you notice how chaotic its workings actually are, a haphazard parade of thoughts and feelings that never ceases.

His argument to the bodybuilder is that you already have a head start. If you have been training for any length of time you are already practising a way of disciplining the mind, because there is no real difference between mind and body and working one disciplines the other. The road begins as a narrow winding path that sometimes seems steep, and widens as discipline is mastered.

Note that the catalogue carries two books of this title. This is the 24 page course. There is also a 68 page edition.
