Frank Zane's Mind Muscle™ Machine

I've been using electronic devices which combine light and sound technology for more than 20 years.  They rely on a principle of physics called "entrainment" or "frequency following response".  When resonant or vibrating systems come in contact with a stronger vibrating stimulus they  synchronize and follow it.  Nature's creations (except man) and mechanical vibrating systems use it naturally as a means to conserve energy:  flocks of bird flap their wings simultaneously and fly in formation, crickets chirp together, fireflies blink on and off at the same time, pendulums of grandfather clocks start swinging out of phase but when in close proximity to each other, swing in unison after a short period of time (the more pendulums the faster this occurs).  These are all moving, vibrating systems.  The human body is composed of such resonant systems: heartbeat, breathing rate, nerve impulse transmission, peristalsis, predominant brain wave frequency -- when under stress all these systems are vibrating out of synch, they have nothing in common.  But when a light/sound stimulus is introduced, these systems align with it and adopt a common denominator vibration according to the frequency following response of physics.  My new Mind Muscle Machine makes meditation, visualization, deep relaxation, and accelerated learning easier and fun.

The Mind Muscle Machine glasses have white LED light on the inside.  With closed eyelids you experience a kaleidoscopic light show in synch with a pulsating sound.  Faster frequencies tend to stimulate alertness (14 to 30 pulses per second), medium frequencies (alpha waves 8 to 13 pulses per second) enhance visualization and relaxation, slower frequencies (theta and delta waves 7 pulses per second and less) bring on drowsiness.  so depending on what effects I'm looking for, I use the different Mind Muscle Machine programs to take a nap or fall asleep, meditate and practice visualization, become more alert before workouts and task performance, and manage stress.

The Mind Muscle Machine has a number of neat features: 23 built in programs (my favorites are #11 "deep meditation" which ramps down to slow frequencies I use prior to napping; #19 "Afternoon Break" to take the edge off the day; #23 which plays differently each time you use it, ramping from slow to faster, faster to slower -- very interesting and stimulating.  I like the manual mode feature and often set it to 11 pulses per second for visualization, or 7.8 pulses per second which is the "Schumann Resonance Frequency" -- the point where one falls asleep.  I also do a "sweep" by selecting manual mode and keeping my finger on the up/down button so that the pulses sweep from 1 cps. to 30 cps. and back -- the brain loves stimulation.  The Mind Muscle Machine also has a built in microphone, so if you listening to loud music such as at a rock concert, you can wear the glasses with the tiny control unit in your vest pocket and witness a light show in synch to the beat of the music.  You get a special "Audio Strobe" music CD which has inaudible high frequencies embedded to drive a spectacular light show while listening to soothing music.
